SJ LINKING SYSTEMS COMPARES UHF versus VHF

March 1, 2007 – Los Angeles, CA

SJ Linking Systems, a Motorola 2-Way Radio Certified Reseller, weighs in on UHF
versus VHF. Which frequency really is better?

In regards to UHF and VHF, there are two factors to consider when purchasing two-way radios: 1) Where will the systems be used? 2) What is the purchasing budget?

UHF stands for Ultra-High Frequency and VHF stands for Very High Frequency. Essentially, UHF offers a little higher energy radio wave than VHF. While UHF is best suited for in and around buildings, VHF is for primarily working outdoors and with few obstructions. If the coverage area is both inside and out, a UHF two-way radio is recommended.

“Although typically UHF is a little more expensive than VHF, we suggest choosing the UHF walkie-talkie because it’s more versatile and will penetrate through steel and concrete structures while working equally as well outside,” states Shasta Sowards and Jennifer Sheppard, co-owners of SJ Linking Systems.

SJ Linking Systems is located in Hollywood at Raleigh Studios.
