SJ Linking a communications rental company will help support 2,100 kids from 14 different LA schools clean up litter from the local state beach.
The KIDS ocean Day Adopt-A-Beach Clean-Up was created in 1994 by Michael Klubock of the Malibu Foundation for Environmental Education. The Foundation receives generous support from the California Coastal Commission's Whale Tail License Plate Fund.
After the clean-up, the volunteers and kids will take their STAND IN THE SAND and create a huge human design depicting a GIANT WHALE SPOUTING TRASH OUT OF ITS BLOWHOLE. SJ Linking Systems, the volunteers and most importantly the children will be focusing attention on the fact that trash in city neighborhoods travels to beaches and out into the ocean, harming the marine life there. Similar messages will be sent simultaneously by students taking part in this statewide event at six additional locations along the California coast.
"We love to to participate in as many neighborhood projects that support environmental causes, KIDS Ocean Day Adopt-A-Beach Clean-Up is one of the most inspirational events in Southern California," notes Jennifer Sheppard, co-founder of SJ Linking Systems.
